Well, I attempted to finish my rear disk brake conversion last night and it appears that I need to push the rotor back 2" I was wondering if anyone knows of where to get some longer lugs then I can just have a spacer made to go between the rotor and disk.
Thanks
Phil

me too!! or did you put brakes on each wheel? LOL

Ok, let me explain, I have a standard 14 bolt rear disk brake kit, and since the inner dually wheel pushes toward the center it is about 1/4" from the wheel. (the outter part of the rotor) Soooooooo if I put a calliper on it will hit the wheel. Since my new rear is a cab/chassis rear the calliper and such wants to bolt in 2" closer toward the center of the axle. The older 14 bolts have wheel studs that go through the old drum (now the rotor) and then the hub. So my idea is to machine a spacer to go between the rotor and use longer wheel studs. I hope this makes makes dollers, not cents...

have you looked into maybe finding some that are of a RV , they might be longer , dont really know but might be worth a shot??

if you are putting the spacer between the disk and the hub, your studs will need to have longer shanks so they are a press-fit into the hub and rotor, if you have just the threaded part sticking thru the rotor it will not properly hold the rotor. Each time you hit the brakes the rotor will move a little and it will eventually wear the studs and they will break off. Now if you are just spacing out the wheels, call trevor and he can get you some spacers that bolt to the rearend and have new studs in them for the wheel (like and adapter) and forget all the previous rambling.

So are you spacing the wheels or rotors out?
