Question for guys running engine driven compressors...how often do you add oil to yours or change the oil....or have you had to do any service to yours since you have had it installed..?

...just asking , dont want to screw mine up by neglecting it.

say during peek crusing weather i check my edc like every 2 weeks or so, but thats if i was using the york alot, never changed the oil personally, because i'm always putting new oil in. what i did was empty the york completly when i got it, filled it with 12 ounces of oil and then made my own dip stick so i could always keep it around 12 or so. i have yorks on both my bagged trucks

on my edc i check it once a month, maybe sooner if it gets driven alot, and never had any problems. i run 12ozs of sae 30 non detergent oil because it is a little thicker than 10w30 and you don't get the foam like you do with the 10w30.

I don't even check mine, just put more in every so often when i think it needs it. If it over fills it just blows alot out for a while. I have a breather on mine on the fill hole that empties into a water bottle. Most people don't put breathers on them except the oasis ones come with them. I just made my own out of 1/8 pipe fittings which are the same thread as the plug on the side of the compressor.
