Ya that's one of the reasons I didn't do that as well. I just think over or behind the axle is a better location for the bags on these big ass trucks. Add in the rediculous torque the 454's make and you may end up tearing stuff up. I am planning on running a sway bar on the front of the 77 as well.
But to help you show us some pics, so we can see what you see. The fix may be easier than you think.
To relocate the bags won't be that hard...from what you are saying it seems like the rest of the setup is good.
just a point but with the long wheel base the bag on bar helps alot with lift when trying to clear a bump. I ran bag over axle for a long time and I had a hard time clearing more than a few bumps.
this is true, however, you shuold run it on the lower bar, and have a stout bar at that! when on the upper, it will flex, which causes the actual wheelbase to decrease on the flexing side, resulting in sway.
i posted on ssm because i cant get them on here viva my work connect. but the pics r on
we did 1 1/2 inch on the tubing from suicidedoors and we had the bags on the axle the first time when it was set up for 19s
now we narred the rear end 9 and 1/2 inchs in the rearend and hade no room to put the bags on the axle so we had to put them on the upper bars and the bags were r usinjg r firestone 7200 that most guys never new thay were made , and im now running qa1 shocks the dual adj. but i was taking to a buddy of mine and we thought that we need to put a drag link on it to have no rearend movement the dually from hackshack and devious is running one on there duallys
so i thought i could try that and keep the same setup ???????
anny ideas
they run the track link because they run paralell 4-links, you have a triangulated, and shouldnt need the track link. when jacked up, can you shift your rear end side to side any? i bet reininforceing the bars would help tremendously
