I am selling my 89 CC 4x4 dually tonight and I just picked up a 98 dually that I plan on bagging, but not yet as I already have too many other projects going on. I want to give it a static for the time being, but I am comtemplating on waiting since I dont want to spend too much money on parts that will not be used when I bag it.

I know that I can use the spindles, so that's a no brainer. The flip kit would be a loss as well as springs, so I am unsure of what I am going to do ... I might just wait and then just bag it later. For everyone with bags, are you using dropped/tubular control arms or just modifying the factory arms? I know that I could make my lowers into dropped arms and move the spring pocket, but I figure that if I am going to do that, I might as well just modify them for bags.

If any of the dropped arms help significantly with the alignment/camber then I might consider them, but if not then I dont see the need for the added expense.

Fabrication is not a problem for me so making what I need will not be a problem, but I just dont have the time to spend right now and wanted to do at least a 5/7 drop for the time being without losing out on the parts in the long run. I have lowered/bodydropped many trucks before, but have not had anything bagged for over 10 years. I have kept up for the most part on all the improvements as they have come along since then, but I am unsure of what all is available for this truck, and I would like to know from everyone that has gone down this path with their truck and what you would or wouldnt have done different. I dont have a problem paying for good parts, and I am very picky as to how everything functions/works so I dont want to take any short cuts, even if it means waiting till later.

I am going to start looking for parts this week, but would appreciate any input that any of you guys could give. Thanks.

you could just buy the 4 bags take some leafs out the back or cut them off totaly behind the axle making it kind of a two link and the whole springs in the front mount the bags with nuttin more then 4 tirevalves and pump them up until the prevered rideheight is reached and leave it alone , the bags are 75 a piece so it isnt too big an offer to make , when youre ready to do it propperly you can still use all the materials used , maibe you only need to cut some steel of the rearaxle that was used to hold the bags in

If I decide to go this route, I will go ahead and fabricate a two link. I have already thought about this, but the two link I want to build will also have side to side articulation as well, since I dont want to lock the rear axle in without any articulation. I have no desire to do a quick "down and dirty" type of lowering, which is why I am contemplating waiting until I can do the job like I want. Like I said, I am picky and want things a certain way so rushing it is just not my style.

It defifnitely would be a cheaper, quicker way to lower it quick but not something that I want to do. Thanks for the input anyways.
