I been out of school for awhile and sometimes my kids homework baffles me so I thought I'd get a second opinion(or more).

To notch the rear for 24's with a 33" tall tire(seems to be about the standard height of what people are running) and a dana 70 with 4" axle tubes. I get the bottom of the notch need to be about 18.5" off the ground.

correct"

Your correct sir.. but what 33" tire are you running? Mine are 32" and they are a 295/35/24

Lock told me a 305/35 was what he usually mounted.

Thanks for the answer back, you know how you know your right but you doubt yourself.

Not a problem.. if you add it up 16.50+2" for the axle = 18.50 unless I'm off somewhere. because 2" will be below centerline and only 2" of it will be above. a 305 has to be a pretty big tire. Hell mine look almost too big to me.. But I don;t have to worry about curbing a wheel so I'll just be happy with what I have...lol

thats right, but you want your notch to be a little higher than you need IMO. just like a 1/2 inch or an inch. that way the axle isnt bottoming out in the notch when its layed out.
