i have a 97 chevy 3500 crewcab and im curious if anyone with a similar truck has ever used the airride technologies bolt on kit for it. any pros/cons? how low did it actually get? how much articulation did it have? how good was the ride compared to a regular non-bolt on setup? any and all imformation is appreciated.

I have one on my dually. I like it alot, with using a standard belltech notch which is what art designed it for it was comparable to a 5/7 static drop at ride height. It will not lay out without going to a bigger notch. I originally bought the belltech notch to go with it as my truck had like 5000 miles on it when I did it and wasn't looking for it to lay frame at the time. It got good enough lift to get around just fine and towed great. When I did go lower I built my own bigger notch and had to move the bags for it to work. I went with triple stacks behind the axle which give huge lift and ride great and even better with a trailer behind it. I had to relocate the panhard bar to go lower as well. I have pics of it in my garage on here I believe.

For the money though you can buy just a universal hd four link and save a bunch of $$ I would not buy it again but at the time, 8 years ago, not alot of companies were making good kits back then so I went to art. I wanted a bolt on kit at the time so it was the way to go. Hit me up if you need anything else about it, it may take me a day or 2 to get back as I am working a ton right now though.

what other company would u suggest that i buy my four link from? i want to be able to get the truck to lay out but still have it stout enough to tow with. the a.r.t. kits are alot more than i really wanted to pay but ive always heard they were good and strong and the fact it was bolt on was also a plus. however, any kit suggested does not have to be bolt on.

and another question........has anyone ever used the c-arms from chassistech? are they any good? i have looked at them the last couple days and the prices seem pretty reasonable and the pics look pretty good. the only concern i have is i can get upper and lower arms from them for about 1/2 the price of the lowers from a.r.t.

I had a set of lower control arms on my 88 burb. Not quite the same thing, but I wasn't very impressed with the build quality and design, just didn't seem quality, no real glaring flaws, just looked cheap.

As far as 4 link suicide doors will make bars whatever length you need them and I believe they will make them extra beefy if you want, just tell them what you want and they will you hook you up.

I would stay away from chassis tech, there is a reason they are cheaper, they are cheaply made. I had a set of uppers on my s10 back in the day and they were covered in welding splatter and the balljoint angles were terrible, blew out the boots in a few days. Everything I have ever gotten from them never fit quite right and just didn't have the quality that you should expect.

Suicide Doors...........and when you order tell them you want the bigger bars cause its going on a 1 ton. Only problem I have had was w/ an axel tab and they fixed that problem by making the thicker.

after looking at the suicide doors site and talking to rickie there i think i am going to run one of their parallel 4 links with bags on the axle. im having problems now deciding what size bags to use. i realize that by putting bags on the rear end i will only get as much lift as the bag offers compared to getting more lift if i put them on the bars but i think this will be alot stronger for towing. this being said, i want to put the biggest bags i can on it. i found some f9000 after a google search but im pretty sure there has got to be bigger ones available. does anyone know what size bags are on semis? can i use them? also, should i do a panhard or max link? if i dont use the chassistech arms what is the best way to lay out the front? i realize i have alot of questions but this is my first airride setup on a dually and would prefer to do it right the first time. any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
