Not on a dually, but I was thinking of putting together a square body, possibly a k5 or a std cab short box. here lies my problem...I have owned a few lifted trucks in my days, but I am short and fat..lol so eventually i get tired of the HIKE up in to the rig.. so I was thinking of doing a 4" lift or so...THEN put some air bags on it to achieve another 6 to 9" of lift.I have seen this done on a suburban before and it was sick, but I never stopped to talk to the guy, and I forget how it was set up.. Now obviously I would love to be able to run coils, but there are no 4 link conversions for these trucks (or i couldnt find any) so i will probly be doing this with leafs... any suggestions, pics, or links??

Thanks in advance,

Tony

take a look at Kelderman air ride they have been doing straight axle conversions to the newer Aarm trucks and 4wd is their speciality. I'm someday going to f+r 4 link my K30 crew but have to finish a few other things first. Like my bagged 72 burb,89 dually and i'm getting the 92 back too.

I did it to a guys toyota. We were going to run a 4 link then he cheaped and we did a ladder bars set up. I think it would have turned out pretty good if he would have done it the way I told him too. We ran 3600# bags about 1/2 way up the bar. Had good lift and rode decent. But a lot of the ride he didn't like was associated with his aggressive tires. His bars bent but that was because instead of getting the 1 1/4" round by 1/4 wall dom he got 1" round by 3/16 welded seam.

I did find a four link kit on the net through coloradok5.com but they want like almost $5K for a conversion kit!!!! wtf..are you kidding me... the picture of the kit show like $150 in metal, and they are charging $5k, because its all bolt on... ridiculous...

i just checked out the Kelderman website... they only make kits for late model "bro" trucks... and they are SPENDY!!! I did get some ideas off those pics on their site though...hmmmm

You have to remember that putting a four link on a lifted vehicle is a lot more involved than on a lowered truck. When the normal guy links a 4x4 it has a lot more to do than just hold the axle in place. There is a lot more design and engineering that goes into a kit like you looked at than one on a mini ect. Maybe its not what you need but the price is not that outrageous. A lot of mud bogging guys are using what thye call a one link. Im sure it doesnt handle too great but it is very simple and allows articulation and wheel hop control. Might check out pirate4x4 and do some searching. If you post what you want to do, you better put your flame suit on though. There very much against mall crawlers.

lol, I know all about pirate 4x4...they can be brutal.. Mine will be used for light off roading, but yeah, it wont be seeing alot of rock action....
