ok i havea 98 chev crewcab , rear lays frame easily enuff, on the front thou the engine cross members keeping the frame rails up a bit. myquestion is for the guys who are bodydroped. did you Z the frame 1/2-3/4" or just over bodydrop it abit to make up for the front frame(under the doors) not laying?

I didn't do either. Front just sits a little higher. What I have planned, don't know if it will work or not is to take the amount out the the crossmember and skid plate to allow it to lay, I think some of the tabs for the lower control arm mounts need to be trimmed as well, maybe some other things, like my exhaust has to be dealt with too.

i didnt think you had to? im pretty shure mine layed flat frame before i bded it, although it would be good to z it a little i think becuase these trucks are famous for dragging control arms lol

as I remember some of the trucks had different frames. Some needed a Z like mine and some didn't, maybe had something to do with the motor/tranny combo. Mine is a 2000 with 454 auto and it needs almost an inch to lay out perfect in the front.

mines the motor xmember and lower control arm mounts holding it up,justseemslike a lot of work to do for a 1/2 Z . think i might try cutting them down a bit first.

mine is a 2000 with 454 aqlso , and when i lay the front out the cross member and the lower control arms hit the ground and my frame is like 3/4 of a inch from laying and my old dually with 350 in it did the same but after some dragging it layed flat.. lol

oh maybe its just the newer ones? since mines a 93, ive drug mine down a little but i dont think it was an inch maybe like 1/4 or 1/2 inch at the most.

i did a bit more trimming and it looks like1/2" , i'll probably just bd itabit more instead of doing a Z
