yeah i just got a 1979 ford f-350 and wanna know about how to best set up my bags. I plan on runnin 3" drop i-beams with a set of slam specialties xs7 bags and have no clue if they will work its a big block 460. i also dont know how to mount the bracket to the i-beam. can i run a different set of bags in the rear or do i have to run the same bags i would like to run a watts link and 4-link set-up is this possible?
Thanks guys and im working on drawin up some renderings so i hope to post them soon

I was looking at doing the same thing about 10 years ago.

Those bags should be okay, a 460 weighs about 700 lbs. One thing I was looking at doing was to redrill the mounting hole for the I-beams a little higher to give more drop. If I remember right I was thinking you could move it up about an inch. Mounting the bags should be no big deal, just get the universal mounting brackets and start cutting and welding. I think you can even weld on the dream beams.

A 4-link and watts will work fine for the rear. The only problem you might run into if I remember right is that the fuel tank is mounted inside the frame rail in front of the axle so you may have to remove it. But it is probably a dual tank truck anyway, so you could just run the rear. I personally would run a little bigger bag in the rear depending on what you are planning on towing. There is nothing saying you have to run the same bag on both ends of your truck.

Hope that helps.
