I have been looking for information if 3/4 ton eight lug spindles are the same as on a 1 ton. The truck is a 1979 3/4 ton chevy.

All of the information that I have found is that the ball joints and the tie rods are the same for both but the brakes are different. Can I just put the larger brakes on the truck with a drop spindle and have it work?

no their not the same the way the 3/4T brake caliper mount is differant then the 1T but the 1T single wheeled spindle is the same as the dual wheeled spindle but you are right that the balljoints and tie rods are the same

I forgot one other thing the brake lines are different also and if I remember right the rotors for the 1T are wider also
