Are you going to be towing? If so I would run some the big slam bags over or behind the axle.

would re 8's or he 8's work on the bars..i plan to tow with it but nothing bigger then a 2 car if that ...prob only a 1 car

There is a tremendous amount of stress on the bars when you mount them on the bars. If you are going to do it I would put them pretty close to the axle. An 8 inch slam bag is capable of around 4000 lbs at a reasonable air pressure and more with higher pressure, so I wouldn't worry so much about the bag as the bar itself.

Are you looking to get more lift , ease of mounting, or just set on mounting them on the bars?

im running 2x2x1/4 square tubing with under bar gussests...and this is not my 1st 2 link ...just trying to see what everyone else is running for bags but i looked a ssm and found some trucks running 4 links and 2 links with the bags on the bars ..so thats what im doing

like i said the axle twist with a 2link i know my yota is 2 link and when i got it the bags were on the axle and when aird up the bottom plate was turned was back pulled the bottom of the bag from inline with the top not good for the bag soi mounted them on the bars...im sorry but alomost everything thing that is linked has bags on the bars so i dont see no problem..its not like im towing a semi trailer or a 4 car trailer...and even if i mounted them behind or on the axle the lift would suck ass..i like to clear the tires so if i got to change one..and on the bars it will ride a hole shit load better ..and less air in the bag to lift it

You seem a bit snippy to my suggestions. I never said you couldn't mount them on your bars, just offering some insight. First off you dually weighs about 4 to 5 times what your yota does. I had a 2 link on my burb it was made from 2.25 x 2.25 x 1/4 tubing with the bags mounted about 3/4 btw the front eye and the axle. I could see it flex when I aired it up, not much but I could see it. Granted I didn't have under bar gussets, but the only extra weight I had was my stereo. Now about the "twist" you are referring to, it is the same no matter where you mount the bag, I don't know why it would be any different on the bar or on the axle, everything moves together on a 2 link. Now some guys are running some really big triple stack bags, I think Trevor(lockone) can get them for you, if you want more lift and they say they ride really nice. Most of your ride will come from your shocks anyway.

I guess imo if you are going to build a dually I wouldn't build it for what you plan on towing today, I would build it to tow as much as humanely possible. Because there will come a day when you want to, or if you go to sell it.

But hey it's your truck and obviously you already know everything.

over time the link bars will bend and you will wear the shit out of the bushing during the mean time if your gunna tow alot with it.. You can do it and has been done many times before. just keep an eye out on your bars. good luck with the build. bag over axel is best.

First off looking to SSM for answers is your first problem.

Second of all two links are the cheap and lazy way to set up a rear end. I know they have been done hundreds of times and they all work but they don't work as good as a four link. If you like to replace ujoints and get a back massage from the driveshaft vibration then a 2 link is the way to go. Yes you can set your pinion angles to be correct at ride height, but do you always drive it at the same exact height every time?? My guess is 99% of people who put 2 links on don't even know how to correctly set pinion angles for the correct cancellation.

Third I have my bags behind the axle, triple stacks, I get around 15 inches of lift, rides like a caddy, and even better with a big trailer behind me. I dont have to worry about my bars bending, bushings wearing out quickly, etc. My gas tank is in the stock location and I have exhaust all the way to the rear.

Yes I am very opinionated when it comes to 2,3, and 4 links, but when you look at all the factors...you want lots of lift with a 2 link, very bad pinion angles and bag plate angles, safety, longetivety, strength, etc . a 2 link is just not the way to go.

Now don't even get me started on reverse 4 links.

As long as I am not driving behind you when something breaks, have at it.
