Soo i plan on a 6/8 drop on a 98+ dually. first off it doesnt appear to be enough! i want a max of 2.5 inches of frame clearence and it seems like the 6/8 will give me about 8-10 i need pictures and help on how to drop more statically in the front rear is easy enough with blocks hangers and shackles on top of the flip kit.

alot of you will say that sounds to damn low. no its really not I had an s10 with a 5/6 drop i had 2.5 inches of clearance and loved every second of it anyways front end are those a spring spindle drop or a control arm drop? i have found both and im confused. could i do a 6" control arm drop and do a 3" spindle???

lets get pics of the most extreme statics please

I have a 5-8 drop....more than low enough, any lower and I would have trouble over speed bumps as I already bottom out....you should buy a truck already set up, cause you are looking at big money , you can build four s10's for the cost of one dually...my bumper will crash into parking stops, and is lower than a soda can standing.

Take notice of the sidewalk and curb height

there is a big difference in a s 10 and a crew cab dually, Drivin a dually that low is gunna be way harder, i did it for awhile. i had a 5/7 drop on one of mine back in the day. You have to think a crew cab dually is about 10feet longer than a dime. so your center point is way different and makes is really really hard to get over speed bumps and drive ways even if you (swing) it over them.

I think I can carry an S10 in my bed ...............
liljlowrider.......i still have to post some picts of the brentz wheels on my truck for you

ok i must have been seeing pictures online where people put the wrong labels that truck is a 5 /8 im totally up for the 6 / 8 then! yea i realize my center point will be a lot different with the extended or quad cab dually as opposed to a short box reg cab s dime like i had before

i don't need people to tell me not to do the 6/8 because i had alllll sorrtts of people trying to talk me outta the 5/6 s10 and i woulda been pissed off if i didn't.

next question like i said i noticed 2 different ways to do the drop. with springs and spindles or with control arms what is the best route to go to maintain ride quality and maintain alignment specs?

No worries on the money ill have enough ive got nothing else to really spend it on while im in the air force. i don't want another s10 ive been there done that.. just to small for my likings

im use to low as hell i even had the extreme kit on the truck my front bumper scraped all the time and i loved the sound of it

dang . ...thats low.....
the 5-8,6-8 is still drivable for the dually.you could go lower.
5-8 is with belltech 3" drop spindles and 2" lowering springs
rear is a flip kit with some overload leafs removed and c section
dually's are heavy
I want to say about new ~$1100.00 with shocks plus installation for static drop belltech.....
of course you can do it for less......
there are some good deals on wheels here too....
about $2000.00 for a set of 22's or 19's with tires......thats cheap

i might be wrong on belltech spindles ,spring height but you get the idea
its been along time since i did mine
actually a rear 10 inch drop would look good .....
I run helper bags in the rear for loading the dually, I can level-raise the rear
of course thats just more money
when they aligned the truck , they had to knock out some tabs for the upper control arm
bolts...I think in my next life I would just go with a full air ride system...

I don't think anybody here is going to try to talk you out of going low, until you get to the point that it's not drivable. Of course most people trying to go really low go bags.

What LilJ said and to drive the point home, I ran a 5/7 on a '92 extended cab longbed half ton and it would drag the front gas tank strap on driveway transitions, so we're talking even driving slow. With a dually you've got a heavy, long truck to keep off the ground so clearance is a much bigger issue than with an S10.

98crewcab's front bumper comment is worsened by the fact he has the Caddy clip, that bumper hangs down a long way. I had one on my '92 and dragged it all over the place. If you run a regular truck bumper, especially without the valance, it won't be quite so bad.
