I am new to the dually world and to this site itself. I bought a 89 chevy crew cab dually and also bought some alcoa 22.5 wheels before I found this site. After reading a little bit I have found out that the wheels I bought are smaller than some of you guys usually run. I looked at the wheels and they say 22.5x 7.50 and lots of you are running 22.5x 8.25 Did I mess up? I also read that the fenders will have to be stretched out or the rearend will have to be narrowed... that I didnt know either.

I have wishes to bag the dually but I dont know what kit to put on it so I have thought about giving it a static drop for awhile. What do you guys suggest or advise?

Mess up... sounds like you got some TowNasteys which is awesome... no fender widening if your going low!

Sorry I can't help you out but I know the other guys will but anyway welcome to the site!

Welcome to the site.

First of all you do not have a set of Townasty wheels like mentioned in a previous post. You have a set of early style Accuride or Alcoa wheels that come off some of the RVs with the 10 lug pattern. You also need to be sure you have the correct 10 lug pattern on the wheels. These wheels will help you out a very small amount on the wheels sticking out of the fenders but you will still need to widen the fenders or narrow the axle if you are going to lower the truck or bag it.

You will also need to get the wheels machined if you are planning on getting a low profile tire put on them such as a 265/35/22 or other sizes.

These wheels will stick out around 1.5-2 inches past the fenders on your truck if you were to bolt them on now.

Would it help if when I find someone in my area that does milling to get them to turn the face of the rear wheels a little so they can sit a bit closer to each other and tuck in more. I dont mind widening my fenders but if Im getting my wheels milled why not do a little more to them? Also, what is the lug pattern on the wheels that I have which are the 22.5 x 7.50 alcoa. Cause I measure them and they are 10 x 285mm is that right?

That is the correct pattern for the wheels. You also need hub piloted and not stud piloted.

I can do all of your machining needs here in house. Let me know and I can get you some pricing quotes on the work.

I centainly appreciate the offer. I will try to find someone locally to keep cost down because shipping wheels out to you and milling them down then sending them back is going to be pricey. I will definately give you a call if I cant find someone here. Thanks.
