brian so your saying that you need to space up the back part of the tranny until it stops viberating?

just curious because mine vibrates bad as well.

Thanks
Robert

when they are factory, the rearend is way lower than the transmission, which is the correct pinion angle. when using a flip kit, the driveshaft becomes level from the trans. to the rearend. when you shim up the carrier bearing, and the rear of the trans. you get it closer to the stock pinion angle. the belltech kits usually come with the trans. and carrier spacer. the djm does not. hope this helps

Thanks brianbgboy, any idea what the actual angle should be? Mine is lowered and seems to do it mostly at highway speeds. No popping that I've noticed. I do know the carrier and trans are both in stock locations. I was just under the truck a few days ago and there is no spacers/shims under either.

Extra lift changes the pinion angle just like lowering and it will vibrate. They mostly do it at highway speeds. Not sure on the correct angle but mine is setup at 5 degrees and it does great.there was a topic on here that showed how to find the correct angle. Try a search to find it.

Cool brain thanks.

So what kind of incraments in spacing should i go by? like 1/4" at the back of the tranny and also at the carrier? or is that to much not enough?

Also im bagged with art in the rear dont know if that matters

I appreciate it.

Thanks
Robert

Well I changed the fluid in my axle this week and went with the expensive ROYAL PURPLE.....NO CHANGE WHATSOEVER!!!

My carrier bearing is shimmed with 2 spacers but dunno about the tranny...guess I'll check that tomorrow.

Mine starts humming @ 70 then vibrates at about 75 and really sucks @ 80...no popping...can't tell it on the street at all, loaded or not

Oh and mine does it worse when i have my 3 car wedge on it...SHITTY!
