I am a pipe welder and I may use my dually for more than just cruising in the future. I have a Lincoln Classic II welding machine I may mount in the bed later. The welding machine weighs around 1,100 llbs. and I would also have some tools in a toolbox in the bed area. As is, I wouldn't mind my truck sitting about two inches lower in the rear to level it out with the front and tuck some rim. What I don't want is for the rear to be lower than the front. The rear consists of a custom flip kit, removed overload leaves, and "1inch drop blocks." I will be re-installing the overload leaves and if necessary removing the blocks. My question is, about how much will a squarebody with close to 1,300 lbs in the bed, 1,100 of those ilbs. at the very front of the bed area behind the cab, lower?

It's almost completely dependent on your overloads. And the nature of your spring pack.

I have a 76 CCD, and it has been used for light towing (5th wheel holiday trailer) allmost exclusively for 20 years. Pulling the old 76 Vanguard it squatted about 1" when hooked up (1000 pounds tongue weight directly over rear wheels), but 3 leaves were removed to make the ride tolerable. Who knows if leaves were added by a previous owner in the trucks first 6 years of its life. I don't know how many leaves are in a factory pack, perhaps someone can chime in.

Now that I bought a new 33 foot 5th wheel, which only weighs 10,000 but has over 2000 pounds of tongue weight, it squats about 3 and a half inches which puts the rear below the front.

To answer your question we would have to know if your factory spring pack has been modified (also were your overloads completely removed).

It sounds like I might get away with just re-installing the overload leaves. I removed the top overload leaf because it is useless after the flip and the lower overload leaf for a better ride. My spring pack is shown in the pic I posted, how many springs are in your pack?
