Hey guys, Im working on some parts for a 01 1Ton dually.

Ive just been researching ball joints and all that good stuff, and im finding out some stuff that seems weird about these trucks....

Do the 1 ton 3500 trucks use the same lower ball joint as the 1500 trucks? On the truck i have here, it seems to be that way... I know in the earlier model square body trucks there is a ball joint difference, but on these, there does not seem to be any......

Also, from what i have measured and can see, the Lower arms on the 1ton are identical to the 1500, besides the diamiater of the bolt for the lower control arm.... Other than than they are the same?

This just seems odd that the 3500 truck has so many parts in common with the 1500 truck...

Can anyone confirm this?

That is right. 2001-2010 Chevy/GMC truck have all the same suspension and the lowers are identical from 1/2 to 1 ton except for bolt diameters.

that shit blows my mind haha.

I figured they did the same thing they did in the square body dually trucks, with the larger ball joint for the 3500 trucks.

Shit, so essentially All i need to do is modify my current 1500 chevy arms to the correct legnth to accomidate for the 3/4 ton hub on the 1 ton spindle and im good to go. Ive measured about 2" to make up the difference.
