The Sub gas tank might be an idea. Maybe put the bags / bars on the inside of the frame like dw werks did, only using the stock frame.

The only other option I can think of would be to somehow move the wheels outward. With a C&C axle the outside wheels clear the fenders by a good 4 - 5". Ask Lock if it's possible to run a really thick adapter, or as a last resort swap to a wider axle. PM comegetsome and ask him what shitbox the axle on his truck came from.

fens, I originally had the wider rearend which pushed my rear wheels out past the fenders about 4 inches. I came across a real good deal with the c&c rearend just to find out its even harder to set it up with a bag system. Removing the gas tanks and going that route is not something I like to do because I would like to keep my bed clean with just a major hump in the middle for functionality. I think I have it figured out as to what setup im doing now, I would just have to decide what bags to use on the rear. I have seen lots of people here use the single bag instead of the double convulated ones. Why? Not sure. guess I'll do more research.

wideload, I posted that pic of your truck on the first page but its no longer letting me post pics. Not sure why but I will keep trying so that you can see what we can do as a setup.

I know the rearend is centered but you get what im trying to get at.

so, you are still running a c&c rear , you are saying you would like the bag setup similar to that pic ? for obvious reasons like limited room ect... sorry man, not trying to butt in, this post intrests me and some of your questions are the same ones that i had. also, in that last pis, is that back crossmember partially bolted in ? i could be seeing things haha. and how will the bag placement there "behind the axel" affect towing capabilities ? im sure its not as safe or durable as over axel setup but i am just wondering how those two setups would compare.

I have a c&c off-centered rearend and the pic posted is just an example I found of a possible set up for me and wideload as we are restricted by the amount of space we have to mount bags. I think the bottom bag plates are on a square bar which are then bolted to the rearend just in case you need access to the rearend gears some day. As far as towing, Im not sure. Guys on the board say that bag over axle is best app for towing but theres no way I could do that unless I build the whole backhalf of the frame.

cool man. i appreciate the reply. that all makes better sense now as far as accessing gears ect.. i overlooked that. il be following this thread for sure and proably have many more questions. haha
