i just ordered a cool ride kit from air ride technologies and while cruising their website i found installation instructions for my kit. it appears that when my kit arrives i'll need to drill a hole in my frame over the spring pocket to pass the airline through but it's hard to tell from the pics i was able to find. most of you guys are familiar with this type of install. it shows a threaded rod that holds the upper cup in place being run through the stock shock mounting hole but how does the airline pass through? the only experience i have so far with air ride is installing a helper kit in the back. eventually it will be a full time air ride truck, but for now i need help!

On most fullsize trucks you can pull the air line through some of the holes in the frame, either in the top to the sides of the spring pocket or down the frame towards the cab. Main thing is to keep it away from the headers and any other heat source.

ok. its been awhile since ive had the front end apart that far. couldnt remember if there was a path for airline. thanks. do you have any experience with the air ride technologies kit?

I always put a 90 right out of the top of the bag a drill a hole in the side of the upper cup and run the airline straight back through the center of the frame and then it will exit underneath the cab where the frame turns into a "c" channel. Keeps it away from heat and anything else.

thanks. i have to look it over once i blow the front end apart but that sounds like a good plan. thanks a lot for the tip. i'm not a fabricator or mechanic but i'm pretty clever. just want to make sure i do it right the first time to avoid headaches down the road.

The ART kits will come with a good set of instructions that you can follow.

thanks you've been a big help. had a chance to check out some pictures of your rig and damn she's purdy. what mods are required to get a set of big rigs to tuck into the stock sheet metal? it's a ways off but something i'd be very interested in once the air ride is done

To get them under the stock fenders in the rear you will need to narrow your rear axle and make the proper clearances inside.
