Recessing lower control arms on 87 chevy

Nice. Thanks sparky. Im using some 8 in I.D. pipe that i got from a local welding shop. It looks like thats how im gonna do mine. how deep are those? Im going to try 3 inchs deep and hope like hell it works.

my pockets are 2 inches deep...if you go 3 , the pocket will hang down past the bottom of the control arm. it may hit the ground...
