I have a line on a 01 - 02 HD3500 rear end with disc brakes. Will this rear end work on my 2000 LS dually? Are the rear ends the same size or will I need to measure my rear end from end to end and compare against the one I'm negotiating on now? Thanks in advance for your help.

I talked with a local guy that had a 99 Chevy Dually that did a rear disc brake conversion on his truck. He told me other than it looking cool and being more up to date he noticed no increase in braking power on his Dually. I dont know if your newer rear end will work for you but if you do get this installed please let us know what difference you find in the braking of the truck. I would like to do the same if it will help, if not I will leave it alone and save the money and time for another custom mod on the truck.

I would measure it to be absolutely positive.

I think that they are different diameters on the tubes. Widths are very close I believe.

I'm guessing by HD 3500 you mean the 3500's they are calling HD? Still an 8 lug setup?

I ask because they still made the original 3500HD all the way through 2002, and it's a 10 lug setup on a Dana 80 rear, chassis cab width...no way it's going to be a simple swap into a regular 1 ton.

You're probably talking about the regular 1 ton stuff but I'm asking just to clarify.
