Got a couple questions. If a compressor burns the power wire is it saveable? It still works but I dont wanna risk burning the truck down.Ok my lift valves are leaking air at the top where the part with the wire connects to the block itself. The top part turns freely. Can I tighten it down? ?????? I need help guys.

a bad ground can cause the wires on the compressor to burn.(and using small gauge wire over long distances) it may still work, but its probably going to quit on you at the wrong time...

valves are leaking around where the wire comes out of the plastic cover ???. the plastic is covering the electric part of the valve. it doesn't have to be super tight. just snug it.
the internal gasket may have a hole in it. take it apart and inspect it..
what kind of valve do you have?

I guess one of the disadvantages to buying a built truck is not knowing whats in it or how old parts are.The valves are red.Not sure what they are. I will try to tighten them down today when and if it warms up. Minnesota is coooold!! the ground on the compressor looks pretty good and not very long. The wire gauge isnt very small but the other compressor has the same size and it is fine. I may put a 8 gauge on it and see what it does with that.I cant really afford valves and a new compressor today unless there is some kinda Duallyscene emergency relief fund!! LOL!! Thanks.

What about relays? I have seen the Viair 40 amp ones. Are they a higher amperage than say a whatever relay from a parts store? Questions questions Questions!!
