Guys, what is the least expensive way to get a 96 Chevy CCD low? Static drop obviously (which I prefer), but how do I do it? 5/7 is the stance I'm looking for, how much am I looking at having to spend? Got a deal just about finalized on a truck, but if I gotta drive it stock height for long I'm gonna kill myself......
I will buy used parts if I can, is craigslist the place to look?
Thanks for your help.

Check eBay there is a seller with 3 inch front springs 75.00, a flip kit and c notch together 234.00 and 2 inch shackles 40.00, you will need to find drop spindles try maybe summit racing or Jegs? I'll try to find the name of the seller for you.

Also for spindles try classic truck parts.com heard they have really cheap stuff like 100 or 150 for the set

It'll look cool as long as you don't notice it's sitting lopsided, but you'll hate yourself the moment you take it for its first real test drive.

2 things..... since you're going operation cheap

A) Just dont buy anything from Chassis Tech AKA Airbagit.com AKA Raticaltops AKA shAIM Industries AKA Joe Morrow--I'm probable missing a few more.

B) You can do the "ol hot wrench" to buy you some time, but two things- First You must run a front sway bar. Secondly, the trick to this is simple. Where you want to super heat the coil is as low as possible. Ultimately you want to get the coils to collapse and lay on the coil below it. This will make the coil less likely to have a modified spring rate throughout the coil. Also, if you should damage the temper and it snaps it will most likely only drop a small amount and not leave you stranded.

But... being that that was a "back in the day" trick and drop coils are super cheap now, there's almost no excuse for not just buying a new coil.

I don't think torching it is a worthwhile option. I can wait a lil bit until I can buy the kit. Just don't wanna spend more than I have to.
