Hey there guy, been slowly working on the body repairs to my 1979 GMC Camper Special 3+3. I seen a video on youtube where a fella was running 22.5' on his truck (see link below). I was wondering, I'm trying to figure out if he lifted his truck, or if his supposedly stock height clears such a large tire.

After speaking with Trevor about it it seems like I'd have to lift the truck 6" to get the tire clearance... Does a 6" lift even exist for the 2wd duallys?

Anyone??

You're talking about nearly a 37" tire, I find it hard to believe that truck isn't lifted at least a little bit. He may think it's stock height because that's what someone else told him.

Gonna withhold my comments about what I think of the truck in the video.

Looks like shit?

I dunno man...so much potential there for it to have become a cool truck but someone took a detour down the wrong road.

It'll probably irk a couple of the dudes here but I don't mind, I don't have to drive their trucks and they don't have to drive mine. I hate seeing the semis sticking out in the back like that, plus he's got way too much tire inside the front fender, looks like one of those gay "stuffed trucks" those kids are doing with 4x4's running maximum tire crammed into the wheelwells.

I've seen a few lifted trucks running semi's and they look OK; wouldn't own one but they look better than this near-stock height truck, by a long shot.

To me the semis really only look right on a dually when they're milled, low-pro'd, and slammed.

I agree with the whole "sticking out past the fender" thing. Looks half-assed.
