Hello dually community!!

I am in the process of rebiulding the front end on my 2000 c3500 quadcab longbed. I purchsed the truck and did not do the lowering my self, there for am unfimilar with what all is on the truck. Learning everyday!

I am currently am replacing the sway bar links, and the heavy duty ones I purchead are not similar enough to replace and reset to the same height.

I intend to install them and tighten them to the same height.

My question/concern is : How tight should the links be? and if I tighten both to much/little will it effect my handleing or ride height?

Thanks guys! 2stoneddually

If you're talking about the length of the end links themselves.... On a static dropped truck ... Disconnect the sway bar, and with the vehicle on the ground, get the sway bar set as flat and level as possible then measure between it and the control arm. If you're using something like an energy suspension kit, they make different length end links.

Now on tightening them up..... I use a dab of poly urethane grease ( or Vaseline ) between the top and bottom surface of the sway bar. And tighten until the sides of the bushing just starts, and I mean just starts, to swell. This way there not over tightened. Drive it a couple day a check them to see if they've loosened.

Hope this helps

Yeah kind of the same attitude you should have about shock bushings. If you overtighten them they'll die. Just to where they very slightly begin to deform...
