Anyone know or run an oasis air compressor? If so, how would you compare that to a York EDC? Which is better. I'm not concerned about look or space at the moment. Just a good air source.

ive got a Oasis on my dually right now....its my second one....it works awesome as of right now....when i first got my new dually finished it would only run for about 30 seconds and cut off for lack of voltage....i had 2 1000 crankin amp tractor batteries on my truck and figured it was enough juice but it wouldnt run it....well the batteries were 3 years old and had been charged and killed several times on my first dually....well one had a dead cell when i pulled them out....i replaced them with 2 1150 crankin amp tractor batteries and it runs like a champ now....if you leave it switched on and it leaks down overnight it will kick on and run with truck not running and run to cutoff without killing batteries....but at almost a grand id build an edc for 200-300 bucks and get just as good of results...ive had 2 edc on previos trucks and loved them too....i found my oasis brand new never had oil in it locally....guy bought everything to bag an expedition and never did...i bought compressor for 250 bucks...thats the only reason i dont have an edc

Awesome!! Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking about doing an EDC but saw an oasis today and was curious since I'd never heard of anyone running one.

Know where I could find a York for a good price?

An oasis is a york with an electric motor on it. Pretty much same output as long as you have strong batteries.

You can get a rebuilt York at auto zone or the junk yard..make sure you get a model 210..
Here is a list, not sure which ones came with a 210.. just check the plate on them and it will say either model, 207,208,209,210... 210 is the biggest and will flow the most air.

What is uploader valve?

That would be an unloader, it is used to release pressure of the compressor after it shuts down to make it easier to start the next time. Your home compressors run them, ever notice the release of air right when it shuts off? That would be it. They are part of the pressure switch on home or shop compressors. Dont need them on edc necessarily as your engine has the power to start it with head pressure. One thing viair and other electric compressors dont tell you is that you should run them on electrics. It will make the motors last longer and also less load on your electrical system.

also if you run an EDC, make sure you get a good high quality check valve to put on the discharge side of your compressor so it doesnt have pressurized back feed from your tank..
