Question about front and rear sway bars....

Good day all,

I picked up a Hotchkis front and rear sway bar for my Silverado about a week ago. I took a gamble and picked it up hoping it would work. I have since then confirmed that the sway bars are made for and will work on OBS style trucks. I posted them for sale but decided to check with this forum to see if any of you seasoned experts can provide some assistance.

Does anybody on this forum know if the the OBS sway bars will work on my 2000 dually. I thought about sending the sway bars home to install in my 95 GMC but I decided I didn't want to spend the extra funds to ship. My options are using them on the dually if they work or selling them.

The 2000 dually is the same as the 88-98 era trucks. They are the c/k series and if they fit a 95 they will fit a 2000. My 2000 came with a front one stock.

1/2 tons changed body styles in 98, 1 tons didnt change until 01. Many times parts stores dont know that and assume a 99 or 00 dually is the newer body style. Tahoes yukons and burbans also didnt all switch over in 99 either, I am not for sure which ones did and didnt though.

Thanks for the xcellent and informative response. With that being said, I'll keep the sway bars, get them to powder coat shop and get them installed on my dually. Pics shall follow... Thanks again!

So, I spoke with Hotchkis earlier this week about the sway bars. The technical support team was unable to say much more other than the sway bars had not been used / installed on duallies.

I'm still willing to give it a shot. The sway bars will be dropped off at the powder coat shop for a fresh set of coating then installed on my dually. More to follow..
