I know about the "scrub line" and that if you get anything like a spring bucket lower than it, and happen to have 2 flats at the same time, you could die in a fiery crash, or at the very least loose a limb or 3... but can someone explain to me why you cant run "drop" lower a-arms and drop spindles at the same time? All I can find says "bad geometry" I figured it could be something to do with wheel clearance on the lower a-arm too. I just want some one to shed some light on the subject, cause thats exactly how I was planning on static lowering my c-30.

Well, cant say thats a good idea, because when I had 3" spindles and a 2" spring with 225/60/16 on 84 crew , it sat great but if you pulled off the shoulder of the road the bottom cup would rub the ground a little.
it will eventually grind the spring seat out of the lower arm.
what tire/wheel are going to run on it ?

And that was just hanging one wheel off the pavement.

planning on running 225/75-16's all around. that puts me 2.70" taller than your tires over all, and gives me 1.35" more clearance to the ground (if I ran stock lower arms). not much clearance... I've already got the lower 3" drop arms sitting in the carport, so i'm prolly just gunna buy some 3" drop springs, bolt it all up and see what kinda clearance I have, then decide if I should be worried or not. I read somewhere that using drop lower a-arms kept the geometry the closest to how its supposed to be, so I bought them, didn't really know I couldn't, (or shouldn't) run them with drop spindles.

I'm running all this through my head, so follow me on this... you have 3" drop spindles, moving the wheel up. If I ran 3" drop lower a-arms, thats actually dropping the chassis down. Given, my spring bucket will be hanging lower than yours, but should give about the same ground clearance over all... right? (thats taking the drop springs out of the picture)

The wheel/ tire sounds like it will be in the same area or close.
the only differance will be your spring bucket will be hanging down, do you have a pic of the arm ?
Its not money or a part wasted, its just a diffrent way of doing it.
