i was hooking up my valves today and realized the i can blow backwards through the inlet valve ( against the path of air flow).

I want to put a valve stem between the valves and the bags for a fail safe. in case the compressor fails and im stuck.

but i noticed when i pressurized the system between the valves and the bags, the inlet valve leaked backwards towards the tank.

so i grabbed another valve off the work bench, blew through it, and sure enough they all leak backwards of the flow.

im thinkin of putting a check valve between the valve and valve stem to stop the leak back.
(if my tanks were to ever leak anywhere) all the pressure in the bags would flow to the tanks.

NO BUENO!!! and this could be a good trouble shooting tool to seggrigate the system into defferent sections for leak testing. Any input would be appreciated.

I run one way check valves between the compressor and the tank, and between the front, and rear air solenoid valves. I've done this for all my air systems. Might be overkill, but it hasn't ever give me any troubles.

you cna put check valves anywhere you need.

but "all" valves will nto be leak proof until pressure is applied to them. rememeber the valves we all ride on everyday and trust our lives to them were never designed for what we use them for.

i have a check valve after my EDC because the air will leak back through the compressor.

Alright that settles it then! im running check valves at my fill valves.

i was gonna run one after the compressor already because my pressure switch is like one on a shop compressor (has a unloader built in) im gona unload the york everytime shuts off. so it wont have hard starts. that check valve will make the unloader work.

i figure relieving the head pressure and the compressor will be safer too for working around it.

my valves are GC Extreme 250psi.

haha yeah these are not meant for what we using them for at all.
i saw them in my college text book the other day, they are meant for instrumentation purposes.
