Well ive been searching on this forum for a few months and like what i see so now i joined, im currently working on a 78' chevy chassis cab truck ive parted together, my next thing is gonna be the 6/8 drop but im tryin to decide what to do about fenders in the rear to get the wheels to tuck in, i only need about 2-3 inches to run them safely without rubbing, my thoughts are to cut some braces and see if i can push out the sides a bit by the wheels or im gonna have to get dually fenders and cut them up and do some fiberglass work, any opinions?

heres a pic i have now

Welcome to the site, cool truck. Not sure what you should do with those fenders, might look neat if you just stretch the sheetmetal out over the wheels, that would be different. Good luck with it.

Maybe some of the "pre runner" fenders the off road guys use.
Oh, and the flip kit that comes with the 6/8 drop kit does not work on c&c rears.

Cut down dually fenders:

Good to know before i bought the flip kit lol, whats different on the c&c axle? i know its narrow, what am i gonna have to do to flip the rear axle?

You are going to have to go the custom route. The u-bolts from the flip kit are not the correct size for a C&C and the plates hit the brakes since the rear is so narrow.

i was planning on using 4 longbed outer bedsides on a shortbed inner
that would give some extra length to fill the gaps , i was planning on letting the sides come out from the cab untill the wheelhole and back in after the wheelhole feathering intoo the normal rearcorner making only a niche for the rearlight to keep that near stock , i planned on cutting the outer bed along the crease line and fit the middle part first
the concave part would be needed to widen with strips of metal on the bottom of it to shut the crease again and the pieces to and from the wheelhole need to be piecut at a couple of places on the bottom of the bed and allso widened on the bottom to fit the inner part of the bed again not sure on the concave part yet as that might rub the tire i might do some to make a bulge in it above the tire or along the bed
