Okay I had these pieces lazer cut and I want it to look like a mandrel bent frame rail when I'm done. A question for you guys. What do you think would work better to take a strip of steel and form it along the notch piece I have then weld it up? Or use tubing/pipe the right diameter cut to fill the roundish parts and then flat stock on the flat parts?

Seriously, no suggestions?

I would take strips and heat them and bend them to shape, that would probably be the quickest and easiest way to do it, and should give you somewhat of a mandrel bent look.

I agree with sittinlow, you can make a pattern out of wood to bend the flat stock with.....I thought about doing something like your doing to fix my rust problem on my frame but if could find a frame in good shape I would rather do that, and then start my hacking up.......
