So I sanded the tank down and wanted to flow coat it. Then stepping back the letters looked a little boring and flat so I blew in a couple highlights before throwing down another three coats of clear.

It was coming down to the wire cause this was Friday night. I really went light on the coats to avoid a run cause I wouldn't have time to buff it. They were coming to pick it up at 8 am the clear would be pretty soft underneath.

But it came out great.

We made it to the church on time.

I was happy I was able to help out, shame it was under these circumstances though. I've got the weekend to get moving on the truck. I'm working on my buddy's car as well...going to be a busy one.

Till next time, hug and kiss the ones you love...later all.

This thread is rad on so many levels! Super truck, awesome story about helping your buddy, amazing paint and fab work! Rock on man. I really enjoyed reading all 13 pages of this!

Thanks guys.

Ok so after I tacked in the upper bag plates, and welding up the lower bag brackets I realized the gusset covered up the second lower mounting hole to the RE7...duh!

Lmao. So I had to fill the upper bag mounting holes and twist em a bit. Got them filled and moved, then tacked it in...again.

And burnt it in...well my buddy Shane's brother welded them in while I got the front wheels on...

looks good man!!

those 22 or 24s? is your inner the same hight as the outer? what are the tire sizes?
lophat   +1y

Thanks, they are 22's on 265/35/22 tires.

The inners are 15" and they are not the same height. I have 6 semi wheels for this truck.

I had all the correct sizes for running 15" and 16" inners, but to cant remember off hand. I'm at work now I'll try and post them up in a bit.

Hopefully the motor will be getting yanked this weekend and I'll finish up the front end and the Porterbuilt front crossmember.

Just need to get the tanks mounted out back, and the compressors and valves.

Or I may just buy another exo mount from accuair for it...on the fence right now.

Got the shock mounts yesterday, but can't weld them up. I got my welding tank filled today so we're back in business tomorrow.

Going to try and get finished with yanking the motor hopefully too.

Well the rear shocks are on and the motor is out, the motor will be blown apart so I can paint it and remove all the bad gaskets, and polish all the aluminum.

More pics soon, we are renovating the shop and I got my buddy's 58 impala up here to do some work to it.

I'll be going apeshit next week so the pics will be flowing more.

Laid out.

All in all I love the new system and the 3 system presets. It was real easy to install and the only snag was having to run a dedicated ground to the system because the Exo mount has a coating on it that prevented the ground from working worth a damn lol.

But that was the only snag its my system of choice now and I'm wanting one for the Dually...speaking of which...
