Anyone ever try to body drop a duramax without actually cutting out the floor. I know there is always a stock floor bd, but not really interested in spending that much time or money. Can you cut down the body mounts without doing a complete conventional?

i think you can lower the mounts but still ahve to notch the tranny cover and any other potential hazards above the body mounts and frame... dont qutoe me on that but i beleive that is a possible way to do it

I am going to put it on the lift and look. I don't want to go throught all of the cutting and what not, just to gain an inch. It would be worth it to get 2 inches lower but nothing less.

If I would have done better research before buying my dually, I probably would have gone with a different make. After bagging this thing, even when it is laid on frame, it looks like it has a static drop. I have seen static drops that look lower than this. I like the smooth ride, but I would definitely like to be much lower.

yea what about a old school channel where you cut above the frame rails only and lwoer the mounts might raise up the metal by like a 1.5 to 2 inchs but can conceal that under the carpet

I thought about that too, but if you are gonna go that far, you just as soon go conventional.

There is bout a 3 in space between the frame and the body on those.

There is alot of work involved in that 3 inches though dont kid yourself.

I think that is the only thing I dont like about the new Chevy duallies is the frame height. Just like you said...even w/ the frame laid out, they look static dropped cause the cab still sets up so far on the frame.
