Dunno why I didn't post this one, I guess since it was a sort of "small" thing I did for a buddy of mine, I sorta made a thread about it on Chevytalk but it started out as me bitching over how much work it was to pull/install a dash on the '95-up interior. Ridiculous.. anyway my buddy got an ex-wrecker '99 C&C that was in sad shape. Engine was knocking, interior was ragged all to hell, passenger fender and door were cracked up, overall it was just a POS. But he got it really cheap and wanted to make it into a toy hauler with a custom flatbed on it. I had a good running Vortec 5.7 that was ready to drop in, so he got that from me, then we started talking interior. He bought a full interior package from me w/installation and I threw in a good door and fender along with some other goodies to round it out. He's the parts man at the wrecker shop down the street so he's always done me right, was time to return the favor.
I don't have a pic of what it looked like when it came in, with the crunched body parts, I started when it came time to gut the old raggedy maroon interior:
Tan dash installed, kind of a crummy bezel but I got a better one for him later:
New (used) fender and door installed:
Reflexxion steel cowl hood installed:
Back to my shop after getting painted (I didn't paint it, wish I knew how, the paint guy at the wrecker shop he works at did it) and a new windshield:
Floor mat, door panels, a better dash bezel, and some interior plastics in. I also threw him some decent upgraded speakers since I was in there:
Tahoe power 60/40 with fold-down console (took a little persuading of the floor for the rear bracket to fit right, reg cabs are the exception to the cab floor shape), seatbelts, door sills, etc. everything installed including the behind-the-seat cargo/jack box
Can't see 'em too well but I threw in a Pioneer MP3 head unit w/remote, and a CD delete storage pocket. Oh, also changed the Jr. West Coasties out for a nice set of Dumbo ear mirrors:
Seats fit like factory, not bad shape either could use a little detailing. Rear cab wall carpet came out of my crew since his guys left the sheetmetal white, forgot to paint it:
Billet grille, clear signals and corners, wetsanded/polished set of OEM headlights, OEM smoothie bumper that was on my '94 before I put on my diesel bumper
I saw it the other day, he's got a nice steel flatbed sliced and diced getting ready to go in the booth to be color-matched to the body, and some stainless underbed toolboxes for it too. The paint guy just shot the whole frame in gloss black and it looks SHARP. Then it'll get tires, simulators, and OEM chrome caps. I'll try to grab some pics of that stuff soon.
