Im sure I will come up with a good build name soon. So far what I have is a 1979 Dually which I drove all winter and now its time to dive in. Truck is all stock and im not planning on getting crazy with it. Rims, static drop, body work. Body Work will probably be on hold for a while. I will need to replace rockers and a floor section.

Also looking on some help with a static drop. Front im looking for 4" so ill grab some spindles and springs. As far as the back im looking to drop it right above the tires. I have 7" between tire and dually fender. I would like to get it about 1" above tire. would a 6" flip kit with the tow airbag kit work. any help is appreciated. My rear rims stick only 1/4" past rear fenders

So I think I'm just gonna slam the truck. I'm stuck on how I want to approach the rear end. Truck has the stock Dana 70, Either narrow the rear or c&c rear. I can get the work done for less than $300 to have rear narrowed and axles cut/splined.

Picked up a lowering kit for the dually today. 3" spindles, 3" drop springs, Hangers and shackles. Will do for now until I get the rearend done, then I will do a Flip Kit.

Hoping to install it on wednesday, I will post pics of the progress.

Found a guy on the south side of Chicago who has 2 rust free 1985 dually beds for sale with perfect fenders. he is asking $500 a piece. PM me for info.

So I found a guy local parting out a couple trucks. Teh one truck had a complete Belltech drop kit, supposedly 4"/4". Made the guy an offer and he took it. So i coem back the next day and he took a torch to the frame and gave me the full front end (Brakes, control arms, etc) and the rear hanger, shackles, leaf springs, shocks. I ended up scrapping some stuff. So all in all, I have $225 in the suspension.

Took a while to do the front, I think everything is original form 1979. I ended up switching out the lower control arms, rotors and calipers. Replaced both upper ball joints which was another nightmare (still had original rivets). Truck dropped lower, has a nasty rake to it for now. I installed the rear shackles, once again original shackles were a nightmare. Took a combination of a grinder, torch, and pry bars to get them off.

Now onto the hangers. Have to cut off the original hangers and both overload brackets. Most likely have to remove both tanke so I dont blow myself up removing the hangers.

Finally found the time to removes the overload brackets and stock leaf spring brackets. wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. Used a grinder and air hammer and had them off in no time at all. Hardest rivet to remove was the top/front for the leaf spring bracket. Trying to manuever around the tank, etc. But now its time for work, tomorrow morning I will be bolting everything back together and installing new sway-bar bushings.

Well finally completed the shackles and hangers on the back. Will do for now until I figure out what im doing with the rear so I can flip it.
