need help on lowering my dually ????????

i am going to flip the rearend on a 1989 chevy 3500 do i need to cnotch the frame or no ?
first i was going to remove the helper spring and the spacer under it and take the bump stop off .
i have the cnotch plates but do i really need to cut the frame ? if it will work with out cutting the frame then thats what i wanna do any help is needed and pictures would help alot

You will need to c-notch the frame otherwise the frame will lay directly on the axel when finished. You will also need some helper bags back there due to the the missing load leafs if your going to tow or put any weight in the back..

depending on how low your going, you need to notch it. and it seems like your taking it down low. which is awesome ! snap some pics for us man. would love to see the progress.

i want it with the finder lips at the top of the tire (235-85-16) i wish i didn't have to notch the frame it would make the drop easy but if needed i will :)

First off if you use the Flip, the top of your tire in that size will be well hidden by the top of the wheel well opening and that the top of hoop of the rim will be just below the fender lip/top of wheel well opening. Flip Kits are usually an 8" drop right from the start on the C30 and C3500. You need to figure that you are relocating the axle to the top of the leaf pack at least the 4-5" thickness of the leaf pack, then you need to factor in the other 3" or so from the center of the axle to bottom of the perch. Thats your 8" just right there, if you start removing leafs you will be even lower. Also you will most definatly need to do a mini notch or C-notch to gusset the frame. Also depending on your rear end size will determine whether or not you will need to notch one of the runners/bed supports under the bed that run perpendicular to the truck, you may even have to cut a rectangular hole in the bed to clear the pumpkin.

thank you for the info i started it today i have got the right side c-notch in ,
tomorrow i'll do the driver side , i have a set of 4" inch lowering srings do you thank it will look right with them or do you think i need to cut some out of them before i put them in ????

Assuming you are talking about the front coils, if they bring you down 4" your camber is gonna be horrible without spindles. Dont cut the springs unless you know what you are doing, cut to much and the spring could jump out or fall of the pockets during travel, dont cut them the same then you will be sitting all jacked up. Where'd you get the springs from? We need pics of your progress.

They are Belltech springs i've cut a set before so i know what i'm doing on that part but what i'm not sure about is if it's going to sit right i dont want the back to be lower then the front but if i have to take them back out just alot of work
