Hey guys, i just got this 86 silverado c30 from my grandpa, i've wanted the truck for years and years and he passed away and left it to me. its in really great shape, just needs a little TLC and fixing up. it sat a good while when he got sick. It runs great though! I want to make it a short bed and lower it a little. I found a pic of kinda what im picturing for the future. just need to get started...so here goes. 52k all original miles, and it shows.

I like it with the longbed better.

Is that truck from Co? Neighbor of mine had one like it

No, built in Tennessee, in Alabama now.

I would normally think the same thing- but I think the gray truck is proportioned pretty well. I am seriouisly considering shortening my CCD to shorten the wheelbase(help turning), but I too think they look better longer. Decisions, decisions.

Stenny- Nice truck to start out with! And welcome to D/S from south alabam.

That's a damn clean truck to start with. I wish my interior was that clean to start with. I also like the long bed better, but everyone likes something different. If you like it as a shortbox than chop it up.

Thanks guys! I really love that short bed look. What about for the color? I love my 2 tone but I really like that black.

2-toned square bodies rock!

ok guys, im thinking to start, im going to just remove the running boards and mud flaps and spare, add simulators, and lower it. Then im gonna work on the motor and get it all like i want first, then do all my body work last.

suggestions?

I'm doing all of my more involved mods first. I'm doing my body drop and bags first. I'd just hate to get my paint and everything done and than have to take it all apart and redo it just to screw up something I've already done. Also if you plan on bagging it or something later you might as well put the cash towards it now or your just blowing money. Just something to think about.
