I guess I will start a build thread since I haven't stopped working on this thing since I bought it haha

Here is the dually it is a 97 bagged and body dropped with a 454 engine and a 4L80E transmission, it has a full roof rag top, all the door handles are shaved on poppers.

The interior is the part that needs the most work, I still have to chop the rear seat frame to get it to sit the same height as the front seats. I need to have a headliner made and get the carpet in and do a full sounds system and make a custom center console.

I want to do a full front end conversion on it I want to update it to a 2000 front end complete with the hood fenders, grille and headlights, I am picking up that kit this weekend on Craigslist for 450

I will keep you guys updated on all the thing I do there are plenty of little tedious things that I have to do before I can move on to anything big.

Today I replaced the old broken and airbag less steering wheel, fixed the door poppers because for some odd reason they stopped working, like they weren't getting power, and I also wired my self a new deadman switch, I have a problem with my compressors not shutting off, so they tend to run all night and then in the morning my batteries are dead, I still need to establish the cause of this problem, all help is appreciated, thanks.

THIS WILL BE PIC HEAVY!

I saw this truck on craigs list. Did you buy it or are you the one trying to sell it?

I am the one who bought it, got it from a guy in Phoenix, AZ.

So I rewired my deadman switch last night because my compressors would just constantly run and run and drain my battery,

We just interrupted the ground with an on and off toggle switch. Now when I start the truck I flip on the toggle and let the compressors air up then flip them off so I don't have to worry about it running all night.

Also, I got a new steering wheel yesterday complete with a horn and new air bag, much nicer to look at and it has nicer upholstery.

i put the same compressor switch on my truck cuz it will sit for a few weeks sometimes..keep the pics comin!!!

I always run my compressors with a relay triggered by the ignition so compressors will only run when the key is on.

Didnt know that the 1 tons ever came with airbags in that body style. Both my 99 and 2000 could not be ordered with them.

So today I did a little research or rims, haha well I can see they can get a little pricey so I decided to go the Craigslist route and see what I could find this is what I got

These have the sort of triangular hole in them and these have a round hole in them

WHICH ONES DO YOU GUYS LIKE BETTER?
Both sets are 1800 dollars and they come in a set of 6 and they have been milled down to fit 22" tires, and they are 24.5" rims.

Do you think I could run 24" rims on a daily driver with out it being to difficult and not have too many issues with 24's?

They didn't. The non-airbag wheel kinda looks like an airbag, but there's nothing in there, just a horn cap. The wheel he installed came from a 1500 truck, like a '98-'99.

So we pulled off the fenders today tried to figure out what was up under there, pulled them and saw that there had been new holes drilled so they have been stretched already,

But I will probably redo them a little and just clean them up.
Then I decided that I was gonna shave the gas door, so I pulled the old one off,

Then I cut a piece of 18 gauge sheet metal and made it just big enought to cover the hole but not be over lapping, I got the right size and then tacked it in

Then after that I continued to weld around it but like and amature I forgot to let it cool and it went and warped on me -___-

Then I taught my self how to use the stud gun and tried to pull it out, I will finish on it tomorrow

My brother daily drives a 05 gmc 3500 bagged running 24s. I dont think you will have any problems running a 24 on a daily basis. Also im not sure if you have bought wheels yet but I have a set of 24.5 peterbuilts I may be selling. Im in AZ also which is where im assuming your from.
