Hello everyone. Im new to this site but I figured Id start out with a little build thread of a truck I am currently working on. I know how everyone loves pictures so I will do my best to post alot of them.

We started with a 97 CC chevy dually that had seen better days. The suspension work was out dated, scary, and would no longer work with decision to upgrade to 24s.

We decided to keep this truck solid since we wanted to continue to haul with it so we opted for a new parallel four link, watts link, and running the bags over top of the axle. We also planned on streching the factory flares to fit all four of the 24s in the rear on the stock axle.

We started the process of streching the fenders. Once all the body work was done the fenders went to the body shop to have all the bodywork done and preped for paint.

The truck was completely body worked and repainted by BC autobody in Mesa AZ. At this point the truck is getting the front end layed out. We are building custom control arms and converting to SRW front hubs as well as a full Heim joint steering conversion.

The control arms are made from 1/4 inch flat plate with gussets under where the bag mounts. The gussets also double as a shock mount. We are using factory type lower ball joints and 1 inch FK Chromolly uniballs in the upper control arms. That is all for now. I will post more pics as soon as we finish up the firewall and inner wheel tubs. Thanks for looking

Looks real good. What color is that? What size tires?

Thanks guys! I believe the color is just factory chevy red. The tires are 275-30-24 all the way around.

If ya dont mind me asking, and im not trying to sound dumb. But, what ply rating are those tires?

The tires we are using are a standard 4 ply tire. The load capacity of the tires are 1819lbs max and the front curb weight of the truck is about 3040lbs. So even though the tires aren't what is recommended for the truck, the load capacity is within the max load of the tires. The rear of the truck is def. within the capacity since we are running four of the same tires. At most we are towing a single small vehicle on a 16 foot trailer. We have been running this size tire on my brothers Duramax 3500 that is bagged and the only issue we have had is when the alignment shop dropped his tire pressure to 32 psi. He drove on them for a week and the side walls started cracking. Lets just say we wont be using S&S tire in AZ anymore.
