Nice thread, you need to bring that thing down to earth a bit.... 5/7 drop would do you right!

I am putting air ride on it. Gonna bring it down some, also going to do 19.5's all the way around with Michelin rubber.

A small update, truck just went into the shop. It is getting the new transmission and I am having them build it up with some heavy duty parts and a billet converter as well as adding a sensor for a trans temp Gage. I will be picking the truck up when I get back from Montana Friday next week.

As well I am buying the pro version of the VCM tuner sweet when I get back, I already bought a couple of books on tuning, I am going to start learning what I need to so I can start programming ECM's myself.

The next step is I am going to be building new exhaust under it with Flowmaster 50 series mufflers. going to dual it out all the way back.

I am hoping over Christmas to take my Jeep to Montana then to bring my Camaro Back

The car has no engine right now, I am thinking about stuffing an LQ9 in it with a 411 ECM so so I can have some fun playing with the tuner and get to enjoy my car again.

Not a huge update, but Yesterday I got my truck back from the transmission shop, I had the new trans built with a heavy duty torque converter and a shift kit, new valve body, and all of the Kevlar clutches and heavy duty parts.

It is running good now, getting down the road really nice, I can actually feel the big block power now! The truck gets up and shovels when you stand on it now. Going to throw a set of spark plugs at it because it is idling rough, I figure after having the leaking injectors they are probably a bit gummed up.

Tuesday I am heading to Corpus to get another load of my stuff, might be towing my 72 back, we will see how it tows then, or a trailer load of stuff, I have not decided yet.

NICE!

I decided to leave my Camaro in Montana, I am moving back next year, so no point in dragging it all the way back down here, I am thinking in the mean time about buying a 67 or 68 Firebird next year we will see.

I was thinking the Firebird would be fun to stick an LQ9 in to play with learning tuning.

A 1st Gen 'Bird with a LQ9 would be sweet.

Good to hear you got the trans going, sounds like you are getting there.

That it will, the first thing I need to get however is a trailer, I was going to get an open goose neck, I think instead I am going to see if I can find a good 40-48' enclosed car hauler goose neck so I have something to move my toys and tools around with.

Well today I drove the truck to Corpus, It ran tip top. I was very happy with how it ran coming down here. Ran 67 mph most of the way, with that I was at about 2300 RPM.

Most of all I enjoyed the ride of the truck, this thing was built for the interstate, It rides smooth and evens out the bumps easily. I am going to want to replace the drivers seat because the back on it is bent, so it gets a bit uncomfortable after a while. But other than that the truck rides smooth and is very quiet inside.

I am thinking one of my next projects is going to be getting the programmer to turn off the torque management and to get the fuel map corrected. Then I am going to put a pair of flow master 50 series on it and get it dualed all the way out the back. A new distributor is also going to be in the works.

I am also going to look at my options for getting more air into the motor, I am thinking about the K&N intake kit that replaces everything, it is a bit spendy though.

The other thing on the horizon is that the fuel pump is getting noisy, I am going to replace it with an external pump so I can run an auxiliary tank in the bed under my tool box which will net me another 60 gallons of gas.

The important thing is now after having driven the truck a couple of hundred miles down here today and having it perform well I am much more confident in it, and I feel like I can rely on it. I am really looking forward to heading to Montana in it over Christmas.
