Ok guys... Im in need of help.. I need to figure out how much to lower my truck...... But I cant because I dont know exactly how far down to go to get the look im after... Or if im about where I need to be now... With semis on it I want thefender opening to just barely be level with the top of the tire... My current tires are 28.5" tall, w"ith a measurement of 30.5" from ground to top of fenderwell opening... Ive heard that the ideal semi tire for 22s come out at like 29.5".... Is this true? If so, then they are aprx 1" taler than my stockers... Thatll raise the truck .5" and fill up the f.well .5".... So then thatll leave me with a 1.5 in fender gap sitting on my new semis? Correct? How does that math and reasoning hold up with yall?

Guys? The reason im asking.. Is because I dont have the cash for rims yet so I wanted to go ahead and do my static but I dont wanna have to lower it twice... Any input th would be appreciated.... Thanks!

If you refer to your gmaquarebody thread I gave you exact size of the big rig low pro tire size. Which was based on a 265/35-22 which is what you would most likely want to run. Beyond that it's just basic math. Realistically you can crunch numbers and plan all day but everyone of these trucks seem to be different. Your just going to have to put grinder to steel and get it together and see what you have. Speculation can only take you so far before you just have to start ordering the parts and seeing what you end up with.

I know man and thanks.... It was you who told me id end at 29.5 with the tire height.. Ive just been told so many things, that I was just tryin to clear it up.. Ive been told that my burb has been lowered and others say its not. So I was just tryin to clear some of it up.. Cause if I lower it and it already has cut springs or heated springs or a number of other things then of I buy 3in spindles itll be toooo low. So I was just tryin to get real life numbers ie fender well to ground and such.... Sorry for the confusion...

About the only way I think your going to really know for sure is pull the coils and lay them next to a set of stockers. Hell call around to some local Oriellys and find a store that has a set of Moog replacement coils in stock. Take one of your to the store and compare. If ya don't want to go through all of that just find another burban at a used car lot and get your measurements. That's about the only way to really know. That's also assuming the one on the lot is stock

I forgot to mention that what one trucks stock hieght is may not. Be the same as your stock. Suspension parts take a lot of abuse and wear out or start to sag or compress over time. I bet your truck has settled an inch or more since it was new just from parts and your coil getting worn and not being as strong as they once were. So there might not be a straight answer to your question. Unless you can pull a coil and see some obvious torch markers where the coil is collapsed or see where a round has been cut off I say take your curren measurements and start ordering the parts you need.
