Got a little work done on the 5.3 harness last night. Couldn't work on the floor anymore so I set up a old kitchen table to work on. The guy told me he didn't cut any thing but he did! He cut off the wires to the prndl switch flush at the harness so it took me a while to figure out what was missing. The 80e I got has all the wires still on it though. I broke the top of the switch trying to get the top plug out only to realize I could of left it in and cut the wires. Its not needed I'm using the neutral safety in the truck. The lower plug goes to the pcm so now I'll probably have to buy a new switch!

Friday night I got the 5.3 harness all done. The plan for sat was to put the motor, tranny in and start wiring it. I had test fit the motor during the week. So I knew the manifolds didn't clear the frame. Small notch needed. I also thought I could use the 5.3 ac comp but it was in the way of the motor mount.. the problems started when I got to the 4l80e. I never measured the length of it. I thought they were the same as a 400. That's what I read and its not true. Its 2.5 in longer. After a lot of measuring I ended up just moving the crossmember back.

Does any one know if the wheel base is the same on a 99 cc. That's what I got the tranny out of. Maybe I can use that drive shaft if its shorter.
