Been checking out builds on the forum for a while and finally building another dually for myself this time. So the Story goes I traded a bagged mazda 3 to a friend who happened to have a really clean mostly stock dually that also came with a set of 24s and adapters.

Here is the Mazda:

Here is what the dually looked like when I got it:

We started working on the dually right away. First step was getting it torn down and swapping to a CC axle so we can run the 24s on the rear with stock flares

You can see the difference in width between the axles

New axle in and cleared or all the old brackets

A simple notch cover and some wheel tubs finish out the bed floor. The tool box is also a new addition

We ended up doing a simple two link in the rear with some extremely over built bars. So with the rear done it was time to move on to the front:

We built a set of custom control arms to swap the front end over to a 3/4 ton hub and also move the wheel forward in the wheel opening just a bit since these truck tend to roll the wheel back when they lay out. The front was cut for bag clearance and notched for a full heim joint steering.

At full lift up front:

Wheel tubs were built and most stuff was relocated. The ECM is under the dash and the ABS was tossed. The engine fuse panel is moved to the drivers wheel tub. New battery trays are built.

The truck is using a York 210 on our custom fabbed bracket for air supply, Accuair V4 manifold for control, an AVS 7 switch box, and an Air Zenith aluminum air tank for storage.

The next step in the build was addressing a crappy aftermarket installed sunroof that was broken and leaked. We decided to replace the entire roof. So it called for a trip to the local wrecking yard for a replacement.

Out with the old in with the new. The third brake light was shaved while in transition and also since this roof was from a 3/4 ton truck is doesnt have the front clearance lights.

Next step was getting the truck body worked and primed for West Coast Nationals in Parker AZ. The trucks taillights had already been shaved but after stripping the body work we found out the passenger filler had been hit and bondo over. So we reshaved the pass taillight and rebody worked the entire bed. A new Grant Kustoms roll pan was installed with our custom made license plate box. The tailgate was also repaired and body worked.

The taillights are LED and are frenched into the panel between the tailgate and the roll pan

The rest of the truck as also worked over and given a solid coat of primer. This primer color is just a standard grey primer with a pint of dark green toner added.

You may also notice the front bumper has been stretched an inch to eliminate the need for a lower valance since they are nasty ugly. The plan is the section the bumper to tuck it under the fenders and eliminate the filler panel from under the grill.

So what I have posted has been accomplished in about 2 months. I will try to keep this thread updated as the goal for this truck is to be on display at the 2013 Sema Show.

How close did your inner wheels end up being to the frame? I ask because i am in the middle of bagging the back of my 95 with a c&c. I think imma have one inch to spare
