dually rear end questions on 84 crew chevy with cummins

alright guys i have swapped a cummins in my crew cab and she HATES the freeway with the stock 4.56 gears in the dana 70 i purchased a dana 70 out of a 92 dodge dually with 3.54 gears. it looks like its WAY narrower. anyone know? i havent had time to measure anything. i already looked into regearing my stock rear end and i know i dont want to go that route and spend all that money on it especially since i am going to be switching to a C&C rear, that i have when i bag it. anyone know the widths?>?> or have any insight? please keep the flaming down

Dont really have an answer for you, but that dodge axle may be the same width as that chevy c&c rear end. I will be interested in this well since im doing the same project with the same axle issues

Go with a GM 14 bolt plentiful, cheap and really easy to regear. I have 3.21 gears in mine. DRW = 72" SRW = 67.5" C&C = 63.5" Not sure on the D70's, I HATE Dana axles. D60 fronts are a necessary evil...
