The Purple People Eater

so I guess I will start a build thread for mine, its pretty much built already but doing a lot of things to it and or changing stuff, so guess this will be the best place to post update pics of it.

I picked it up a few weeks ago, its a 97 GMC crew cab(as you can see ha ha) has 153K on it, drags frame on Pete 22s,

Here is what it looked like when I picked it up.

this week while on vacation, been doing a little work,
got the bed painted (hence the name)
its just paint for now, but saving up for tinted line-x



Cleaned up the engine bay, and painted the intake black for now, will prob paint it purple to match.


Installed fog lights too(need to finish wiring them, started raining)


Should have the rest of the truck finished up on paint tomorrow, keeping it flat black.

long term I want to recover the front seats or find a full set of gray buckets for it, maybe get rid of the shaved handles, body drop it, and maybe 24s.

Hell maybe they were ON a pete when he got them, idk. Not a big deal really.

Finally got some more work done.

Got some spikes in the mail, I was missing 4 on the rear, so ordered some extras to have on hand.


Then worked on the train horn(Hornblasters) install while I had the front end torn apart for paint.
Got everything mounted behind the bumper and grill and hidden.
pic was before I shortened the air lines.


Ran a separate air system for the horns, put everything behind the back seat.


Did some touch up painting and more cleaning up wires in the engine bay. Still need to recondition the plastics back to black.


And finished the new flat black paint, happy to have it all one color.

no real updates, but a couple new pics from a local car show the other weekend.






I got some samples of some colored DIY bedliner coming in the mail soon, and if it looks good I will be doing that sooner than I thought(way cheaper than doing Line-x etc)
