I have a 1991 chevy dually. Got the stock 16" wheels on it. What is the biggest tire I can use that would accommodate the stock ride height and not cause rub on the back two tires?

I have also considered doing a 3" body lift or lifting the front to level the ride height.

Below is a link to a truck I am using as my template, this truck is 4wd, my truck is 2wd. The tires on the truck in the link below are 255 85 16 and they are on the stock sized wheels.

Has anyone ever tried a 285 75 16?

Im not sure what the biggest tire you will be able to run but most people around here that ive seen run 33s or 35s on new duallys just run a spacer plate between the inner and outer wheel.....usually give it enough clearance to run alittle wider tire

215/85/16 or 235/85/16 with stock suspension and stock wheels. When you get any wider than these 2 on a stock width (6") wheel it causes the balloon effect and will bring premature wear patterns to the tires. You will also need to run a spacer between the 2 wheels to keep the tires from rubbing the sidewalls.

I'll second, third it, whatever. Needing the spacer isn't the only thing to remember, just like Trev said the rim width is also a limiting factor. Not only will it make 'em wear funny if they're ballooned out, it's just not safe. Whatever sizes you're looking at, check them out on Tire Racks' website, then hit the "specs" button and you can see the recommended rim width for that particular size tire.

I lol'd and I'm even eating dinner.

BTW that isn't nearly as nasty as what I saw last night, went into an Exxon to take a leak and some assbag took a shit in the urinal. Perfectly clean terlet sitting right next to it so it was some jokester that must have watched too much south park. It's funny to see it in a cartoon but pretty hard to look at IRL.
