I just got done doing this same install. The way I got the spring in was to hold it in place on the upper spring pocket. Then I started jacking up the LCA. you have to get it to a point where it looks like its almost in the lower spring pocket. Then either just use a bar to pry the spring into the pocket or you could also use some hammer persuation to get them in there. I had the problem that if I jacked up the LCA too much it would slip out. That's why I had to stop at the point where it was looking to start to slip. Hope this helps.

Yah I used the easy does it floor jack method to get the spring out

Those 1 ton springs are a bitch cause it takes so much weight to compress them.....ive never tried it on a 1 ton but i have tried this method on a 1/2 ton worked good......i leave the spring out and bolt the arm to the spindle then take the lower control arm rear bolts out and drop the rear of the arm down.....slide the spring in from the rear and jack the back of the arm up and line bolts back up.....seemed to be easier to compress the spring that way but like i said give that a try but ive never tried it on a 1 ton

so an update for any one followinw this trhead.

I got the spring in and the lca and uca mated to the spindle!

Was a 1ton of fun!!

It was a pain in the ass and a couple cuts and cuss word later the sring went in with relative ease.

The tools u will need incude:
Spring compressors
A tub o greese
a lowboy jack
a good pry bar! good stiff sob!
breaker bar
Two buddys ( mine are not tools but yours may be!)
18 pack (Tacate round here!)

#1 compress the sring the best u can, very nerve racking I may ad!!! Use good spring compressers!! u dont wanna chance a fail!!! It took 4 or 5 trial fittings before it was compressed enough.

#2 stage ur lowboy jack under the ball joint on the LCA. At this point u can lube up the bottom end of the spring and the area around the spring notch/indent on the psring pocket of the LAC

#3 Use ur pry bar to leverage ur spring into the pocket by wedgeing it under the base of the spring and the shock hole in the LCA.

# 4Hey one buddy slowly jack the LCA. While one guy holds the pry bar to keep leverage toward the spring pocket Have the thrid guy keep a close eye on how well the spring is compressing and staying in the spring pocket!

I want to remind everyone that this is potentially very dangerous!!!!!!!!!!
SAFTEY FIRST!!!!!!

I was lucky to have the spring seat on my first attempt

U wanna jack the LCA till about paralell to the ground and stab the lower ball joint and secure it. Then stab the Upper ball joint and secure it with the castle nut!!!!

Wha-laaaaa!

Again I am no pro!!!! this is just an account of my experiance!!

Thanks again to the all the cats that shot me good advice!

I would be dead in the water without u guys!
