Anybody run a 215/70/16 on a dropped square? I have 215/70/15's on my shortbed and I like the way it looks. Just wondering how it would look on the dually.

I ran them back when i had kmc slams and was a decent proportion unlike the 225/50 or 60 everyone used to run. They were too small and looked funny and 225/75's were too big and rubbed bad

Any issues with them not being a D or E rated tire?

Nope, I bought the ones I could find that had the highest weight rating and never had problems with wearing funny or anything. They were an "suv" tire, for what thats worth. Also ran them on the inside rear when I was rollin 19's

Good to know. Thanks!

Yeah an SUV tire would probably have been an LT or an "XL" load rating, way better than standard load, I would NOT...repeat...NOT run passenger car tires on a dually. They suck even on a Suburban. Check the load capacity on the sidewall, passenger car tires are gonna be around 1200 lbs ea or so, you want something 2000 lbs+ per tire minimum. The Toyo Proxes S/T I ran on the extended cab would fit that bill and get you the size variety that would include the little donuts you want but I wouldn't tow or haul anything in a dually with those as you'd be right at the edge of overloading them.

So what about 7-10k on a two axle trailer? Think they'll handle that?

Got any ideas on a 'D' or 'E' rated tire with a similar sidewall profile?

As i remember the smallest load rated tire is a 225/75/16lt, unless something new has came out. Why not run a trailer tire?

not sur what size my tires are, but should be "stock" size.

I'm going to try the 225/75/16 because no place that I went would put anything that wasn't rated for a dually on there. I had to drive an hour to get those but they were only $30/each - mounted and balanced.
