NO REVERSE ON A 4L80E

LIKE THE TITLE SAYS I HAVE A 1994 CHEVY 4 DOOR WITH A 6.5L TURBO DIESEL WITH A 4L80E AND I DONT HAVE REVERSE WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO FIX IT MY TRANNY GUY TOLD ME TO REPLACE THE SUN GEAR AND SHELL AND THEN DO THE REBUILD KIT IS THAT TRUE

yep, you've probably lost second gear also

Yeppers, been there done that, 1st I lost
reverse, then 2nd, was told I just needed
sun gear and stuff, they tore into it with
195,000 miles, other stuff was worn out
also so in all it ended up being $1325.00
@ local shop. (Wife's old 99 TBlazer 4wd)

I still have reverse, but no 2nd.

I'm gonna look for another transmission. Think I have a 4L60E though.
