hey, just thought i'd introduce myself. my name is john, i am 25, and i live in a tiny redneck town in central illinois. i currently have no vehicle, but am searching for another. i have been a mazda fan since i was about 17. i got my first one when i was 18. it was just static dropped on pathfinders. i did however have the interior tweeded and cut through the bed for the stereo(thats right, i was a stereo kid). i parted it out after the motor blew. i got my next mazda in 2000. i did a static drop again, shaved the wiper cowl, the slots in the pillar behind the door, the emblems, roll pan, tailgate handle, antenna, and gas door, and then painted it burnt orange, threw in some 626 buckets, and got some escalade wheels as soon as they were available(back when nobody had them.. of course i knew that would last long). i loved that truck, but i ended up selling it cuz i lost my license and my gf needed a reliable car for the winter.. so i gave up the truck to buy her a car... ahhhh to be young and stupid anyway, i did the import thing for awhile and just couldnt handle it, i had to get another truck. i picked up a cherry b2200. there wasnt a dent or scratch on it... some old man had it and pampered it. it has 80,00 miles and was pretty much spotless. i static dropped it 6 inchs on the stock wheels and tires... i then bolted up my old set of pathfinders and found that 6 inchs was a bit too much. the week before indy bash i decided i wanted it painted before i went, so my friends and i shaved the antenna, emblems, gas door, & roll pan, and then painted it vw cyber green... we did it in 7 days. when i got back from the show i decided i wanted to bag it as my friend i sold my orange mazda to had bagged it and made my mouth water(i will attach pics).. anyway, i notched the frame and got my rear bag brackets welded in(with a 220 arc welder.. mig welder died on me). another forum i was on had a huge cookout so i threw it back together to drive it up... on the way home i hit a deer doing 80mph and smashed the front a little... i started buying parts for it and then just got tired of looking at it and sold it. after that i bought a crx and started autocrossing, but that has lost its luster... i sold it a month ago and am ready to get into a mazda again. so i am currently on the search. my cousin has an automatic extended cab for $800. i am going to negotiate with him right now. anyway, i dont know my exact plans, but i would like a standard cab, but i will settle for an extended cab. my next mazda will be full shaved, suicided doors, possibly a rotary swap, and it will drag the frame... i would really like a body drop too.

anyway, sorry i was so longwinded and gave you so much history

flame away!

and here come the pics

well my cousin and i struck a deal... i got his extended cab mazda for $600. it runs and drives and the body is very straight and rust free.
the downfall is that the trans needs replaced, but he has a spare trans for it... and it is an extended cab, i prefer standard cabs... and its an automatic, i hate automatics

so the definite plans are to bag it and shave everything. not sure what paint i will go with but i am thinking of the saffron on volvos.
i would like to suicide the doors and do a bodydrop, but i am not to comfy trying to tackle that myself.. so hopefully i will be able to find someone that can do the stuff at a decent price. feel free to recommend people.
also does anybody have any idea the average cost to have someone do the body drop and suicide doors?
anyway, the truck will be pretty typical... prly caddy tails with the long ass 3rd brakelight from the seville, a sliding rag, tweed interior(maybe with some leather or vinyl), 18's... and thats about it

since i am not to big on the stock 4banger with automatic... i might ditch it. we have a mustang 5.0 motor sitting in our shop, but it doesnt have the harness, ecu, or trans... we also have a complete 4.6 powertrain from a lincoln mark8... but i would rather keep an import motor in it as i hate ford. so i might bring back the plan from my previous mazda. i have a first gen rx7 trans already, i might just do an auto to manual swap and grab me a 13b... but the immediate priorities are to get it laying on the ground...

sorry again for talkin so much
