I just bought a '98 B2500 truck... has a 5 speed manual, and plenty of go left in it (I've never seen a 4 cylinder with 2 distributors and 2 spark plugs per cylinder before)...
A couple of perplexing problems about it:
It's missing its owner's manual, and I have no guide as to the fuses.
Also, the "door ajar" light stays on even though both doors are shut tightly.

Oddly enough, before I bought this truck I was borrowing a friend's '80 Ford Courier... a rare one which had a Pinto engine. The Courier of course was a Mazda B-truck with Ford nameplates. And the newer truck has Mazda badges but was built by Ford... odd how things develop like that.

great to have ya here! you could always get a haynes manual. theres a lot more good info in those, than the warranty manual. but people are sellin the manuals on eBay sometimes. about the door light, probably just an electrical problem. you call a dealership to see if they have know what to do?

borrow someones code reader it sounds like its shooting a code to me . but sometimes the computer thinks the door is ajar and its not . if you use a code reader it should shut the code off . but double check with the dealer ship about it they might just tell you the same thing .

Does the vehicle have an alarm or aftermarket keyless entry? If it does check to see if the door pin switches have diodes on them where the alarm ties in. If not that could be your problem.

Welcome.
